Overview
A Level I Trauma Center in the Denver metropolitan area is seeking a Board Certified Neurosurgeon for a high-priority locum tenens opportunity providing 24-hour primary call coverage. This ongoing assignment begins with immediate August coverage and will continue with additional dates as schedules are released. Emergency temporary privileges are available for qualified candidates.

Assignment Details
- Setting: Inpatient, Level I Trauma Center
- Contract Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: 24-hour primary call (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
- Additional Coverage: Ongoing beginning September 2026
- EMR: Epic
- Credentialing: Emergency temporary privileges available
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour primary neurosurgery call coverage
- Evaluate and manage traumatic brain injuries and neurosurgical emergencies
- Perform craniectomies, craniotomies, spine procedures, and other emergent neurosurgical interventions
- Place external ventricular drains (EVDs) and intracranial pressure monitoring bolts
- Manage critically ill neurosurgical patients in the ICU
- Round on hospitalized neurosurgical patients
- Document patient care in Epic
Requirements
- Board Certified in Neurological Surgery
- Active Colorado medical license or IMLC with Letter of Qualification
- BLS, ACLS, and DEA required for credentialing
- Recent Level I Trauma Center experience within the past year
- Proficiency with:
- External ventricular drain (EVD) placement
- Intracranial pressure monitoring bolt placement
- CLEM procedures
- Craniectomy and craniotomy
- Spine surgery
- ICU management
- Severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) management
- Brain tumor cases
- Ability to cover the initial August dates and provide ongoing monthly availability
- Clean malpractice and background history preferred
